Special requirements*In order to get into a College or University you must first have a background in CNA, that is Certified Nursing Assistant program. There is a minimum of 145 hours that must be worked as a CNA before you can get into the Ultrasound programs in your College or University.
*A CNA course costs a total of $475.00 now a days plus the 150 for the written and skills exams, and once you work in a nursing home for a minimum of one year you are reimbursed the entire amount. |
Advancements*If you are in any medical field and have a medical degree behind your belt then you can actually go back to school for as little as 16 months and become a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer as well as the initial profession you started out with.
*It is very simple to advance yourself in this career path because all you need is a few months of schooling for each advancement you wish to fulfill. *For example: I am going to college for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and I hope to fulfill not only imaging of the abdomen of pregnant individuals, but rather broaden my topic of study, and be able to do imaging of the brain and heart as well as the basic. |
